A Peek Into Life, Set Sail's Handbag

For most, our handbags are more than just an accessory, although theres no denying they make serious arm candy. Handbags are an extension of who we are, there an object in which we place our prized possessions, or in most cases everything bar the kitchen sink. Rummage through the sea of receipts and loose change (just me?) and you'll find every girls day to day essentials. Continuing with the 'Whats In The Makeup Bag' series (see posts here), iv'e decided to delve into the contents of my favorite bloggers bags and asked them to spill the beans on their handbag must haves.
Today is the turn of beautiful Brittany from life, set sail. I came across her blog during #bbloggerschat a few months back and have been hooked ever since.

I am so delighted to be here today as a part of Sophie's "What's in my Handbag" series! I've really enjoyed reading these in the past, who doesn't? They're like a sneaky peek into our fellow bloggers personal lives ;)

What I keep in my bag is pretty minimal and practical. I used to be one of those people that carry their entire lives in their bags, but I found it very frustrating trying to find anything in that mess so I went and bought myself a smaller bag. Problem solved! Here are my necessities:

Hand Lotion - This one by Pacifica smells divine and is super moisturizing, which is just perfect for my parched hands! The smell definitely reminds me of Hawaii (where it's made) and provides a small escape from an otherwise not so tropical winters day.

iPhone 4s - I'm glued to this thing pretty much 24/7! I've only been an i Phone user for...well, not even a year now! But I'll never look back. I love it.

Rifle Paper & Co. notebook - This is the perfect size for carrying around in your bag and definitely something I can't live without. When blogging inspiration hits this is what I turn to for jotting down notes so I don't forget a thing!

Hair essentials - My hair is curly and a but unruly so I never really know when I might need a spare hair tie or bobby pin. I always make sure to keep a few handy, just in case.

Rollerball - These are fantastic to keep around! I love this one by fresh called Sugar Lychee. It is fairly light but so delicious smelling. I normally wear Chloe, but am not allowed to wear perfume at work. Once my shift is over, if im not going home, I roll some of this on as a little pick-me-up. Works like a charm!

EOS Lip Balm - Seriously my favorite lip balm. I love this one in sweet mint the best. You will never find me without lip balm...ever.

Evening lip colour - This gets switched up a bit, but i love the ease of the Bourjois Colour Boost's. I have it in Fuchsia Libre and I think it's just a fantastic colour! It's nice to have a something more pigmented in your bag for a night out that's not super high maintenance. Bourjois for the win!

Daytime lip colour - A great "my lips but better" shade for me is MAC's Patisserie. I can apply it without a mirror and it evens out my natural lip colour in a not too obvious way.

Compact mirror - I got this one very cheap at Forever 21 for only a few dollars. One side is normal and the other is magnified, perfect for quick hair or makeup touch-ups!

Card holder - Unfortunately this one's not pictured because it broke and I need a new one! But I typically have a small card holder instead of a full sized wallet in my bag. It's simple and doesn't take up too much space.

And that's everything! Now that you've had a nice little snoop, what do you think? Are any of these items on your handbag essentials list?
